Introduction

Welcome to our General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) training. This is a helpful introduction for all Re-engage volunteers.

Re-engage supports some of the most vulnerable people in society who may be inherently prone to many forms of abuse and fraud, so it is important for you and us to make sure all information is kept safe and used with care.

As a volunteer, from time to time you may well handle other people’s data. For example, when you are filling in forms, jotting down someone’s contact details, or in the case of coordinators, being asked by a volunteer or older person to tell Re-engage about changes to details like change of address or name. It’s important that, as a team, we all have data protection front of mind when handling personal data so that everyone involved with Re-engage has the protection they are entitled to.

As part of our national team of volunteers, you’ve been asked to complete this GDPR training to help ensure Re-engage operates safely, complies with regulations, and is a trusted organisation for the people who support us and use our services.
