Each 90-minute session includes around 45 minutes of gentle exercise, plus time to get to know one another in a friendly, sociable setting.

Mindful Mondays led by Sara (starting 10th May 2021)
You will spend 40 minutes practicing calming breathing techniques and grounding mindful meditation body scan skills, all of which can be used, anytime anyplace anywhere.
As we practice together over the weeks we will grow lasting skills and make lasting connections, give it a go, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Dragons fitness for all led by Gareth Sullivan
Gareth is part of the community team at rugby club, the Dragons, and has vast experience of developing inclusive exercise sessions. Gareth says:
“The group is suitable for all fitness levels and will help improve strength, balance and joint flexibility.”

Chair yoga led by Margaret Hudson
Margaret is an experienced yoga teacher and specialises in teaching safe postures and breathing and relaxation techniques. Margaret says:
“Chair yoga helps keep you flexible, develops stamina and maintains good posture. Conscious breathing techniques help to reduce anxiety and provides moments of quiet and calm.”

Tai-Chi led by Lis Duffy
Lis has taught Tai Chi to hundreds of older people across Carmarthen. She says:
“Tai Chi consists of gentle and fluid movements in sequence. Benefits include improved mood, flexibility, balance and an increase in strength and wellness.”

Healthy creative dance led by Sandra (starting May 2021)
The Healthy Creative Dance sessions will provide a platform for participants to encounter a sense of physical and mental wellbeing and find connection with each other.
The sessions are aimed to be a holistic and fun experience for everyone. Dancing engages all aspects of the mind, body and brain. It improves general fitness such as balance, muscle strength, and range of motion, as well as stamina and flexibility.
